Beamish Museum
Providing an insight into the North Eastís industrial life during the 19th and 20th centuries, Beamish was inspired by the Scandinavian open-air folk museums of the 1950s. It celebrates the areaís historic industries such as coal mining, shipbuilding and steel manufacturing, plus the communities that served them. The museum brings history to life through vintage buses, electric trams, a heritage town, a working farm, steam engines and a pit village.
